Navistar Defense in West Point expects to layoff hundreds of employees

SUMMARY: Navistar Defense in Point, Mississippi is planning to lay off several hundred employees due to low market demand from a supplier, according to the Golden Triangle Link. Approximately 200 people are expected to lose their . This as a surprise since just six months ago celebrated the assembly plant's contribution to Mississippi's low unemployment rate. The layoffs will occur in two rounds, with the first round effective on October 26th. While the layoffs are expected to be temporary, the production of new businesses is not anticipated before 2024.
