Mississippi Supreme Court won’t hear appeal from death row inmate convicted in 2008 killing
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Supreme Court has declined to reconsider an appeal from death row inmate Timothy Ronk, who was convicted of stabbing and killing Michelle Craite in 2008. Ronk received a death sentence for capital murder and a 30-year sentence for armed robbery. Prosecutors stated that Ronk also burned Craite's house and took her belongings, which he gave to a woman he met online. Ronk's defense argued that he stabbed Craite in self-defense. The court rejected Ronk's claim of ineffective legal representation, and no execution date has been set. He is currently on death row in Mississippi.
