Mississippi part of settlement with Tempoe LLC for misleading customers

Tempoe concealed the terms of its lease agreements, trapped consumers with unreasonable return practices, and failed to legally required disclosures. As part of the settlement, Tempoe is banned from future consumer leasing activities, must release consumers from existing lease agreements, and must pay a $2 million penalty.

Three teens charged with murder of Southern Miss football player MJ Daniels

SUMMARY: Three teenagers, aged 16, 17, and 18, have been and charged with the capital murder of Southern Miss football player MJ Daniels. They were taken into custody by the Hattiesburg Department on Friday and booked into Forrest County Jail. Daniels, 21, was found shot and unresponsive in his vehicle Tuesday night and pronounced dead at the scene. The face charges of capital murder and attempted armed carjacking, among other offenses. Daniels transferred from and played his first season with Southern Miss in 2023. Police continue to investigate the case.
