Mississippi museum tells the story of how Black Americans fought for our freedom
SUMMARY: The African-American Military History Museum was founded to tell the stories of black veterans who fought for America. The museum was started by Rani Branch, a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force, who faced discrimination when she first joined the military. The museum showcases the contributions of African-Americans in the military from the earliest wars to the present day. It aims to ensure that the stories of black veterans are represented and recognized as part of American history. The museum is open and free to the public in Hattisburg and serves as a reminder of the courage and dignity of all veterans, regardless of race.
