SUMMARY: We traveled over 750 miles to northeastern Colorado and observed multiple storms on Monday. Initially forming near Denver airport around 3 PM MDT, the storms increased in intensity as they moved east-northeast, becoming severe with mid-level rotation and producing hail. We noticed cloud bases lowering over time and observed two short-lived gustnadoes. The storm reached its peak visual intensity with a rotating wall cloud and occasional funnel, but bases remained high. Near Yuma, CO, the storm produced to softball-sized hail and hurricane-force wind gusts.

Jackson homeowner shot after confronting suspects trying to steal car
