MDAC to open applications for Wild Hog Control Program on August 1
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce (MDAC) has opened applications for its Wild Hog Control Program (WHCP) for the third time this year. The WHCP provides landowners and managers with “smart” wild hog traps to control the population of wild hogs on private agricultural and forestry lands in Mississippi. MDAC offers training and guidance on the most effective trapping methods. Applications must be completed online and will be evaluated based on acreage, historical agricultural losses, and current trapping efforts. MDAC is also accepting cost share applications for land managers who need to purchase trapping equipment.

Boil water notice lifted in Jackson following storm-related power outage
