Walmart to offer free screenings, immunizations for Mississippi customers on Saturday
SUMMARY: Walmart will host its first “Wellness Day of 2024” in Mississippi, offering free glucose, cholesterol, BMI, and blood pressure screenings, along with affordable immunizations for COVID-19, flu, RSV, tetanus, hepatitis, HPV, and more. This event takes place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Walmart pharmacies statewide. In collaboration with the American Cancer Society, Walmart aims to increase HPV vaccine awareness as Mississippi ranks last in the nation for administering the first dose of this vaccine to children between ages 9 and 12. Volunteers and pharmacists will provide educational materials and are available for interviews to discuss HPV's impact. Selected stores will have in-store giveaways and wellness product demos.
