LIVE: Changes underway with the Ocean Springs Marina
SUMMARY: City officials in Ocean Springs have decided to halt the permitting process for the marina portion of a development project. The area of Jackson Avenue and Front Beach was deemed unsuitable for the Marina space. However, the project will continue with permitting for a bulkhead pier and dredging of an old channel, which will be transformed into an event space and parking area. Renderings and plans for this project have been completed, but cost estimates are not available yet. The city will discuss further details at the next board meeting. This decision marks a shift in the development plans for Ocean Springs.
