Jackson State rattled by Florida A&M in 28-10 loss
SUMMARY: The Jackson State football team suffered a 28-10 loss to Florida A&M in week two after a big victory in week one. Florida A&M took an early lead and secured their first victory over Jackson State since the Orange Blossom Classic was revived in 2021. Jah'Mare Sheread led the way for Florida A&M with 90 receiving yards, one touchdown, and 95 punt return yards. Jackson State's offense struggled, with quarterback Jeremy Moussa completing just over 50% of his passes. Zy McDonald provided a spark off the bench, throwing for 149 yards and one touchdown and adding 30 rushing yards. The Tigers will look to bounce back in their next game against Southern University.

SUMMARY: The 2024 College Savings Mississippi art contest rewarded 12 student winners and one teacher with over $7,000 in scholarships. SUMMARY: The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency provided an initial report on severe weather damage from Thursday. One person was injured in Rankin County, and there was property damage in Hinds, Lowndes, and Rankin counties. Over 35,000 customers lost power; the worst-affected counties included Rankin and Hinds.
