SUMMARY: The Jackson Public School District's Board of Trustees has discussed repurposing plans for schools set to close during their first meeting on February 6. Superintendent Dr. Errick Greene mentioned that one school will be used for housing in partnership with the city's Department of Planning and Development, while three others will be demolished to create green space. There are also plans to invite businesses and organizations to purchase or lease some of the buildings through a request for proposals process. These decisions were made in preparation for the upcoming Super Tuesday elections, just a week away.
