Health experts say RSV increases during the fall and winter months

They attribute this rise to the winter and fall months, which are known to see higher rates of CO-19, flu, and respiratory viruses like RSV. Identifying the exact illness can be challenging as the symptoms are similar, but RSV is characterized by rapid breathing and a barking cough. Local doctors have observed a rapid spread of RSV, primarily affecting young children and infants. To prevent the spread, it is advised to frequently wash hands, cover coughs and sneezes, disinfect surfaces, and consider getting the RSV vaccine for children.

The Mississippi Department of Health says Covid-19, Flu and RSV tends to increase during the winter and falls months.
