SUMMARY: 14 high school seniors from Pascagoula School District received certifications in medical fields. One student, Haley Jones, fulfilled her dream of becoming a medical assistant and will work at Singing River Health System. The students graduated from Singing River Healthcare Academy's program and are certified in various medical fields. Jones found the training challenging but rewarding. The program aims to address the shortage of healthcare workers by providing students with free certification opportunities. Jones plans to pursue a nursing degree at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The partnership between Singing River Health Academy and the school district began in 2021. Students can also become ultrasound techs and lab supervisors.

The students sat proudly as their names were called Wednesday at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula.
