Maxi had previously donated a kidney to a stranger in 2019 and was one of around 30 people in the country to donate multiple organs. The transplant was successful, and both V and Maxi are recovering well. However, there is still a need for liver donors, as around 15,000 people are waiting for a liver transplant. The importance of living donors was highlighted by Dr. Timin Tanner, a transplant surgeon. Both V and Maxi are grateful for the chance at a new life and encourage others to consider organ donation.
