Family pet killed in Alcorn County house fire
SUMMARY: A mother and her four teenagers in Ryenzi suffered a devastating house fire, losing all their possessions including their dog. The fire, which took place on County Road 541, started around seven o'clock the previous night. The mother and children had managed to leave the home before the fire began. Approximately 15 to 20 firefighters fought the flames for multiple hours. The house had recently been remodeled, and the County Fire coordinator, Ricky Gibbons, does not suspect any foul play as the cause of the fire.
