Mother of abducted child found dead in Mississippi died of ‘multiple sharp force injuries’
SUMMARY: The coroner of Tangipahoa Parish released the preliminary cause of death for Callie Brunett, 35, as “multiple sharp force injuries.” Brunett was found dead in her locked mobile home after being reported missing. The suspect, Daniel Callihan, 36, who had previously dated Brunett, is believed to have killed her. Callihan and Victoria Cox, 32, were arrested in Jackson, Mississippi, for abducting Brunett's daughters, 4-year-old Erin and 6-year-old Jalie Brunett. Erin was found dead, and Jalie was hospitalized. Evidence of possible human trafficking was discovered. Both suspects face charges of capital murder and sexual assault. The FBI welcomes further information.

Mississippi State hires former standout Victoria Vivians as assistant, director of scouting
SUMMARY: Former Mississippi State legend and Seattle Storm guard Victoria Vivians is returning to Starkville to join Sam Purcell's staff as an assistant coach/director of scouting, starting in October after the WNBA season ends. A three-time All-SEC First Team member, Vivians played for MSU from 2014-2018, leading the Bulldogs to two national championship game appearances. She averaged 19.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in her final season, amassing over 2,500 points in her college career. Drafted eighth overall by the Indiana Fever in 2018, Vivians spent five seasons there before joining the Storm. She is the first active WNBA player to serve on Mississippi State's staff.
