Eagle Lake man charged in death of Vicksburg woman

SUMMARY: Mario Cortez Bailey, a 21-year-old man from Eagle Lake, was by Vicksburg on charges of first-degree murder after Aaliyah Sanders, 21, was fatally shot inside her vehicle. The incident occurred on the 2700 block of Halls Ferry Road in Vicksburg on November 17, 2023, just before 9:45 p.m. Upon arrival, found Sanders in a gray sedan with a gunshot wound; she was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting is believed to be related to domestic violence. Bailey is to be held without bond until his court appearance.
