Court hears request to dismiss Supervisor Archie’s lawsuit
SUMMARY: A court hearing regarding a request to dismiss Hinds County District 2 Supervisor David Archie's lawsuit for a new election has been put on hold until later in the week. Special Judge Barry Ford was scheduled to hear arguments on September 26, but the hearing will now continue on September 28 at 8:00 a.m. Archie, who lost the primary election to Anthony Smith, filed the lawsuit claiming there was a high-tech election manipulation during the August 8th primary. An attorney for Jacqueline Amos, Chair of the Hinds County Democratic Executive Committee, is requesting the case to be dismissed due to lack of subject matter jurisdiction.
