Cause of death revealed for man accused of killing George County deputy

SUMMARY: The Mississippi Department of Public Safety announced that Rickey Powell, the man accused of killing a deputy, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Deputy Jeremy Malone was laid to rest after Powell shot and killed him at a Dollar General in Lucedale. Powell then led enforcement on a pursuit to Perry County, where he also died. The Mississippi of Investigation is looking into the case. Malone is survived by his wife and three daughters.
