Jackson Mississippi High School students gather to mark the anniversary of the water crisis

SUMMARY: , Mississippi high school , along with community members and elected , gathered at Dawson Elementary School to mark the anniversary of the Jackson Crisis. included the burial of a time capsule filled with vision boards, letters, and with hopes and dreams for a better Jackson. One 10th grade student expressed a hope to back in 10 years to dig up the box and see their dreams accomplished. The Water Crisis began in August 2023 when the Pearl flooded due to severe storms, causing the main water treatment plant in the to fail.
