10/3 Highlights: Forrest County AHS v. Northeast Jones
SUMMARY: In the opening round of the Class 4-A playoffs, both teams displayed a strong and determined mentality. Northeast Jones had not made it to the playoffs since 2015, and they were fired up. In the first quarter, Karsen Lightsey rolled out and threw a dart right into the hands of Kaden Padgett, who found the space he needed and scored a touchdown, giving the Tigers a 7-0 lead. The Northeast Jones student section was fired up after that play, but Forrest County AG was determined to make a comeback.

Interview: Registration is about to begin for the Tupelo Public School District
SUMMARY: The Tupelo Public School District is starting registration soon. Ginger Tarry, the data manager with Tupelo Public Schools, shared essential details. Online pre-registration through Active Parent opens on June 24th, while in-person registration at the schools will run from July 8th to July 19th. Skilled to Work: Tek 2 Go Advanced Manufacturing Career Camp
SUMMARY: Across the country, there's a skilled worker shortage, particularly in advanced manufacturing. To address this, EDAA Community College sponsors the Tech to Go camp, now in its 16th year, which provides high school students with hands-on experience in modern manufacturing. Originating in Northeast Mississippi, the camp has expanded statewide and nationwide. Seventeen students attended this year, creating their own aluminum name plates, metal clocks, and spray-painted plaques. The camp aims to expose students to potential career paths in the industry, which has evolved beyond its “greasy and dirty” past. Teachers also participated to gain insights into advanced manufacturing.
