Presley predicts historic voter turnout
SUMMARY: Officials are skeptical of Brandon Presley's prediction of a historic voter turnout in the November 7th general election for Mississippi governor. Political science professor Glenn Antizzo believes that Presley may be trying to motivate his supporters to show up at the ballot box. Despite thousands of absentee ballots already being cast, election officials do not see any indication that Presley's prediction will come true. Voters believe that issues such as Medicaid expansion could drive more people to the polls. Both campaigns will need to ensure they get their base voters to avoid any surprises on election day.
