Crews continue State Route 18 bridge replacement

SUMMARY: Crews in Rankin County, Mississippi, are working on the replacement of the State Route 18 bridge over Dabbs Creek. Recent work includes completing the concrete bridge rail and grassing the project. Next, crews will process and finish grading the stone base and start placing asphalt the following week, weather permitting. Once asphalt placement is complete, the guardrail will be installed and the road can be striped. The project, which is expected to cost nearly $3 million, is on track to reopen by the end of 2023, with the entire project scheduled for completion by spring 2024.

SHS seniors take final stroll through elementary school halls

SUMMARY: The senior class at Starkville High School participated in an annual “Senior Walk” where they visited all schools in the district to see former teachers and receive well wishes from current students.
