SUMMARY: The opening of the new Sportsplex in Lowndes County is expected to happen soon. Board members are finishing up the necessary inspections and installations of the property. There is a possibility of a soft opening this month, with a tournament taking place on four of the fields. However, the other four fields are not ready yet. If the county is unable to host a tournament, the opening will have to wait until spring. The progress of the Sportsplex can be followed on Facebook and Twitter.
