Bells toll as the US marks 22 years since 9/11, from ground zero to Alaska

Ceremonies were held from ground zero to small towns across the nation, with attendees including those who had lost loved ones in the attacks. President Joe Biden attended a ceremony at a military base in Anchorage, Alaska, highlighting that the impact of 9/11 was felt nationwide. Communities paid tribute with moments of silence, tolling bells, vigils, and other activities. Vice President Kamala Harris was among the dignitaries attending the ceremony at the National Sept. 11 Memorial plaza.

USM Army and Air Force ROTC programs host Commissioning Ceremonies
SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Air Force cadets from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby featured Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his training and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
