Getting to know Brilliant Exiles at the Speed Museum
SUMMARY: The Speed Art Museum is currently hosting *Brilliant Exiles*, a temporary exhibit exploring American women who moved to Paris to embrace artistic and creative freedoms unavailable in the U.S. The exhibit, on loan from the National Portrait Gallery, showcases these women’s contributions to modernism and their pursuit of opportunities in Paris. Open until June 22, 2025, it offers a chance to view this unique collection of art. Admission is included with general admission, with a special \$10 fee on Sundays. This exhibition is one of the only three stops in the U.S. before it moves on to the Georgia Museum of Art.

Severe weather threat for Louisville on Friday | Moderate risk, 4 of 5
SUMMARY: Louisville faces a moderate severe weather risk this Friday, with storms already active in parts of Kentucky early in the morning. Initial strong to severe thunderstorms, including hail, high winds, and intense lightning, are affecting areas like Grayson, Hardin, and Meade counties. After a drier midday with muggy conditions and temperatures rising to 87°F, severe storms with potential damaging winds, large hail, and a tornado threat are expected late afternoon into the evening, especially in the southern region. The storm threat should clear by early Saturday, leading to a breezy but pleasant weekend before unsettled weather returns early next week.

Nelson County woman’s $50,000 lottery win eases stress of building first home
SUMMARY: Tonya Shelton from Coxs Creek, Kentucky, won \$50,000 on a Kentucky Lottery Scratch-off ticket. She and her boyfriend had been playing together for six years. Shelton scratched off the ticket in her car and won by matching number 25, on the 25th day of 2025, calling it “meant to be.” After taxes, she received \$36,000, which she plans to use to help relieve the stress of building her first home. Shelton shared that the Kentucky Lottery had previously helped fund her education, and she feels good giving back. Fairfield Grocery, where she bought the ticket, will receive \$500.
