Over $200K worth of stolen farm equipment recovered in Rankin County

SUMMARY: The Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock (MALTB) has recovered multiple stolen items, agricultural equipment, in Rankin County. MALTB assisted in the investigation of a stolen skid steer in , which led them to Rankin County where they recovered the stolen item and other equipment. In total, over $198,000 worth of equipment was recovered. The investigation involved collaboration between several enforcement agencies. MALTB Director Dean Barnard commended the investigators and law enforcement agencies involved. The investigation is still ongoing.

MHP: 4 deaths, 135 crashes reported over Memorial Day enforcement period

SUMMARY: During the travel period in Mississippi, four people died in 135 crashes. The issued 7,026 citations, 118 for impaired driving, and cited 864 for seatbelt violations over the four-day stretch. This year's numbers show nearly 2,000 fewer citations and one less fatal wreck to the previous year. Fatal crashes occurred in Benton, Tunica, Itawamba, and Harrison counties.
