Southern Miss starting quarterback to be named in coming days
SUMMARY: Southern Miss is expected to announce a starting quarterback for college football soon. The head coach, Will Hall, plans to decide between Clemson transfer Billy Wiles and Houston transfer Holman Edwards. According to Andrew Abadie with Pine Belt Sports, the competition between the two quarterbacks has been close, with neither player having a bad practice. While Edwards was initially thought to be ahead in the spring, Wiles has emerged as a strong contender during fall practices. It is expected that both quarterbacks will see playing time in the season opener against Alcorn State on September 2.
