Here’s how Mississippians performed in the 2023 NFL combine

From the end of the college football season and performances in all-star bowl , the National Football League (NFL) combine is the -long showcase of talent held annually at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis, Ind. Each year, college football players complete physical and mental tests in front of NFL coaches, general managers, and scouts.

13 players with Mississippi ties — either in being from a town, went to junior college, or played at one of the 's six Division I universities — were invited to attend based on their collegiate experience. For the most part, these performed well, which could affect their draft status along with salary.

With the NFL Draft garnering more notice year in and year out, the scouting combine has also grown in significance, allowing personnel directors to evaluate upcoming prospects in a standardized setting. Pearl River woman pleads guilty to stabbing tribal member

SUMMARY: Telinah Kowi Tek Farve, a woman from Pearl , pled guilty to assaulting a tribal member with a knife in the Pearl River Community of the Choctaw Indian Reservation. Court documents show that in 2023, she stabbed the tribal member, causing serious bodily injury. Farve was indicted by a federal grand jury and pled guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury. She is to be on August 6, 2024, facing a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. The Choctaw Department and the FBI investigated the case, and a federal district judge will determine her sentence based on sentencing guidelines and other factors.

HOA president speaks after shots fired into Brandon home

CPD makes Aggravated Domestic Violence arrest

SUMMARY: On April 27th, Columbus responded to a gunshot victim in the 800 block of North Lehmberg. Courtney Stewart Wiggly was for shooting her husband, Daryl Wiggly, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was flown to for treatment. Courtney is in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center awaiting her Initial Appearance. The incident is being investigated as aggravated domestic violence.
