Victim identified in 39-year-old Olive Branch cold case
SUMMARY: The body of a woman who was strangled to death in Olive Branch in 1985 has been identified as Lori Ann Mealer Pennell, as announced by the DeSoto County Sheriff's Department. She was found on Highway 78 in Mississippi and the identification was confirmed with 1,000% certainty through forensic DNA testing by Othram. Pennell's only living relative, a brother in California, has been notified. The investigation will continue to bring the perpetrators to justice, as authorities believe that justice has no time restrictions and will work relentlessly to hold them accountable for their actions.
