Truck battery joint venture locating $1.9 billion factory in Marshall County, creating 2,000 quality jobs
SUMMARY: A joint venture between Accelera by Cummins, Daimler Trucks & Buses and PACCAR is investing at least $1.9 billion to create an advanced battery cell production facility in Marshall County, Mississippi. This will result in the creation of 2,000 jobs with an average annual salary of $66,000, making it the largest payroll commitment in Mississippi history. The joint venture aims to accelerate and localize battery cell production and the battery supply chain in the U.S., creating quality manufacturing jobs in the clean technology sector. The project will be supported by Mississippi Major Economic Impact Authority funds for infrastructure needs, site preparation and tax credits. Governor Tate Reeves and MDA Executive Director Bill Cork praised the project for its positive economic impact and job creation.
