SUMMARY: Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin and management employees have agreed to undergo training on federal anti-discrimination laws, specifically focusing on sexual harassment. As part of the negotiated settlement agreement, Newton will receive a $5,000 payment. The complaint details instances of harassment, including inappropriate behavior and explicit content shared in a work-related group chat. Newton resigned due to the hostile work environment and filed the charge with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
