Questions remain after Hinds County ballot shortage
SUMMARY: Hinds County in Mississippi experienced an extreme ballot shortage during the General Election, leading to delays and long lines at polling places in Jackson. Hinds County Circuit Clerk Zack Wallace issued an apology and explained that voters in line were given paper ballots to cast their votes. The paper ballots will be transferred to scannable ones for certification. Absentee ballots are still being processed. There has been no response from the Hinds County Election Commissioners about the issue, and the County Administrator is not commenting. The polls hope to have the issue resolved and certified by the following Friday.
