Pearl police officer charged with forcing arrestee to lick urine off floor
SUMMARY: A Pearl, Mississippi, police officer named Michael Christian Green is facing federal charges for making an arrestee lick his own urine from a holding cell floor. The incident, which was videotaped by Green, occurred after the man was denied access to a restroom following a disturbance at Sam's Club on December 23. Green, who had been with the force, was fired after the event. The City of Pearl opened an internal investigation, handed over evidence to the FBI, and has hired a former federal prosecutor to review police policies and training. The act disgusted city officials and brought shame upon the police department.
