Opening of Buc-ee’s on Mississippi Gulf Coast delayed until summer 2025: report

Mississippi native Alfred Williams to be first Black angler inducted into Bass Fishing Hall of Fame
SUMMARY: Alfred Williams, a 76-year-old from Jackson, Mississippi, has made history as the first Black inductee into the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame. His induction is set for September 26 during the Celebrate Bass Fishing Week in Springfield, Missouri. Williams, a pioneer who broke racial barriers in bass fishing, was the foremost African American to compete in the national Bassmaster Classic in 1983. With nearly 300 Bassmaster and Fishing League Worldwide events under his belt, including four professional victories, Williams has inspired many African American anglers and continues to mentor others in the Jackson area.
