Ole Miss women’s basketball hires former Syracuse coach Quentin Hillsman
SUMMARY: Ole Miss women's basketball hired Quentin Hillsman as its new head coach, following his departure from Syracuse amid allegations of improper behavior and bullying towards players. The university conducted a standard vetting procedure on Hillsman, including a comprehensive background check, and maintained a close relationship with him for decades. Despite the allegations, Ole Miss believes Hillsman is an outstanding coach and family man who will positively impact the program and community. The Athletic published specific player allegations against Hillsman, but the university stands by its decision to hire him based on his character and contributions at past institutions.
