Ole Miss backup quarterback Spencer Sanders ruled ineligible for Peach Bowl
SUMMARY: Spencer Sanders, Ole Miss backup quarterback, is ineligible for the Peach Bowl due to poor academic performance. Sanders, ranked as last year's No. 15 transfer QB, lost the starting spot to Jaxson Dart before the season began. Serving as a reliable backup, Sanders made seven appearances, passing for 278 yards, three touchdowns, and achieving a 65.5% completion rate. A talented runner, he also gained 45 yards on 11 carries. With significant college stats, Sanders is likely to focus on a professional career. With Dart healthy, LSU transfer Walker Howard will become the second-string quarterback for Ole Miss's first New Year's Six bowl since 2021.
