Mt. Olive boasts taekwondo champion
SUMMARY: Gracie Bat, a 17-year-old high school student from Comington County, is the reigning US martial arts champion in taekwondo. She will be representing the United States at a world competition in Europe, fulfilling a dream of hers. Gracie, known for her perfect execution of moves and dedication to the sport, has won every sparring competition she's entered. She is the only representative from Mississippi on the Team USA A Team for the competition in England. Gracie is currently accepting scholarships to help fund her trip. Her passion for the sport and excitement for the opportunity are evident as she prepares for the prestigious international event.

Woman arrested in Vicksburg homicide
SUMMARY: Police in Vicksburg have arrested a woman named Rheuvonia Buck in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred on Grove Street. The victim, 34-year-old Hakeem Burnett, was found with a gunshot wound and later died. Buck has been charged with murder, but investigators currently do not believe foul play was involved in the incident. Buck is currently in police custody.

State rests its case in Beth Ann White retrial
SUMMARY: The state has rested its case in the retrial of Bethanne White, who is accused of causing a deadly crash nearly 2 and a half years ago in Hines County. The defense has stated they will not call any witnesses. Jurors heard from a registered nurse who witnessed the crash and tried to render aid to White, but she refused help. Two individuals died in the crash, while others sustained severe injuries. Expert witnesses testified that White had a blood alcohol level three times over the legal limit. White is facing four counts of aggravated DUI and DUI fourth offense. Further witness testimony will be discussed in later newscasts.

Provine seniors create Community Service Club
SUMMARY: The senior Club at Provine High School donated food to families in need through the Pearl Street Community Development Center, which works with the Mississippi Food Network to combat hunger in the state. The students are actively involved in packaging, distributing, and registering people for food distribution days. They are learning the importance of giving back to the community and prioritizing helping others over themselves. The Club, which has grown to over 100 students, teaches the power of giving back and provides a valuable service to the community. The seniors hope to inspire Junior students to get involved in community service as well.
