SUMMARY: Mississippi lawmakers approved a $10 billion investment by Amazon Web Services (AWS) to establish multiple data center complexes in two industrial parks. The project will create at least 1,000 high-paying jobs. Gov. Tate Reeves called it the largest capital investment in Mississippi history. The data centers will benefit various industries and help prepare the workforce for high-paying future jobs. Funds from the Mississippi Major Economic Impact Authority will help with infrastructure, workforce training, and site development. In a special session, legislators also approved incentives for a plant that will manufacture batteries for electric vehicles in northern Mississippi.
