Mississippi credit initiative awarded $86M for small businesses and startups
SUMMARY: The State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) in Mississippi has approved up to $86 million to support small businesses and startups. The initiative consists of four programs, including a loan participation program, a loan guarantee program, and two equity/venture capital programs. The Mississippi CDFI Small Business Loan Fund has been allocated $45 million, the Mississippi Venture Capital Program has been allocated $15 million, and the SSBCI Direct Program has a budget of $11 million. The state will also operate a $15 million loan guarantee program to expand access to capital for underserved small businesses.
