Mde Accountability Grades
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Department of Education has released accountability grades for the 2022-23 school year, showing improvement compared to the previous year. 87% of schools and 91% of districts earned a grade of C or higher, compared to 81% of schools and 87% of districts the previous year. Clinton, Madison County, Rankin County, and Pearl School Districts all earned an A grade, while Hinds County earned a B grade, and Jackson and Canton School Districts earned a C grade. Some schools, including Dawson-Lester, McLeod Elementary, Peeples Middle School, and Nichols Middle School, did not receive an accountability grade due to testing irregularities.

New Albany teachers thanked with ice cream and soda

Macon murder suspect arrested again in Starkville
SUMMARY: Maxi Chandler, a murder suspect in Starkville, faced new charges related to a domestic disturbance.
