Jackson home damaged after fire starts by gas valve, JFD says
SUMMARY: THE HOME AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE FIRE WAS QUICKLY EXTINGUISHED AND THE SCENE WAS CLEARED BY EMERGENCY CREWS. THE CAUSE OF THE GAS VALVE MALFUNCTION IS UNDER INVESTIGATION. THE RESIDENT WHOSE HOME WAS AFFECTED EXPRESSED FRUSTRATION AND DISAPPOINTMENT WITH THE CITY'S LACK OF ACTION AND RESPONSE TO MAINTENANCE ISSUES. THE CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT AND ATMOS ENERGY RESPONDED TO THE INCIDENT AND ENSURED THE SAFETY OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

Ten Years Later: Winston County Hospital rebuilt following 2014 deadly tornado
SUMMARY: Ten years ago, an EF4 tornado hit Louisville, killing ten people and devastating the community. The Winston County Hospital was badly damaged, along with many homes and businesses. Dr. Michael Ard reflects on the night of the tornado and the community's resilience in rebuilding. The tornado was nearly a mile wide with winds up to 185 mph, causing major destruction. Despite the challenges, the hospital reopened in 2017 with new, modern facilities. The community came together to rebuild, showing strength and perseverance. Rural healthcare in Louisville was saved, thanks to the hard work and dedication of many individuals.
