Hoping for easy season: Combating bad allergies
SUMMARY: During allergy season, Dr. Phillip A. Hooker advises keeping pollen out of the house by not opening windows, using antihistamines when working outside, keeping a clean house, and changing air filters regularly. He also differentiates between colds and allergies based on symptoms, recommending a visit to a physician or allergy specialist if symptoms persist for more than a month. Allergy symptoms typically last longer than cold symptoms, with itching in the mouth and throat, and watery eyes being common indicators. Regular maintenance and precautions can help alleviate allergy symptoms during the spring season.
