Hinds County DA coordinates with DPS in JSU student’s death
SUMMARY: Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens is working with the Mississippi Department of Public Safety to assist with the investigation into the shooting death of a student at Jackson State University. Owens spoke to the Commissioner of DPS about bringing state resources to support the investigation. The fatal shooting occurred at the University Pointe Apartment Complex on JSU's campus. The victim, Jaylen Burns, was trying to stop a fight. Two suspects, Joshua Brown and Jamison Kelly, Jr., have been arrested and charged in connection to the case. Both were denied bond.

Winston Co. Sheriff’s Office investigates shooting at Dave’s Club

Stabbing investigation leads to officer-involved shooting in Gulfport
