GRAMMY Museum Mississippi to open new exhibit highlighting history of Highway 61
SUMMARY: GRAMMY Museum Mississippi will debut an exhibit in August called “Highway 61: Traveling America's Music Highway.” The exhibit will feature artifacts from artists like Muddy Waters and Conway Twitty, as well as artist interviews, interactive experiences, and a Juke Joint. It will also include a section dedicated to the Recording Academy Memphis Chapter's 50th anniversary. Highway 61, known as the Blues Highway, played a significant role in African American migration during the Great Migration and has a rich history in Mississippi blues. The exhibit will be on display at the museum in Cleveland until 2024.

William Carey baseball heading to NAIA World Series for second year in a row

Bond revoked for Jones County woman accused of having sex with dogs
SUMMARY: Denise Frazier of Laurel, arrested for engaging in sexual acts with dogs, is back in custody after a grand jury indictment in Jones County. Prevailing in headlines since her April 2023 arrest, Frazier was charged with unnatural intercourse and aggravated animal cruelty, stemming from multiple videos including one in a church parking lot. A subsequent arrest occurred in February following new footage during her pregnancy. The Forrest County grand jury delivered indictments for both attempted and actual unnatural intercourse. Her bond was revoked after she violated release conditions. Despite initially claiming coercion, Frazier later boasted about her actions online. She could face 10 years in prison.

Ramirez Lopez, Ewing nominated for awards as MSU women’s golf begins NCAA Championship
SUMMARY: Julia Lopez Ramirez, a golfer from Mississippi State University, has been nominated for two prestigious collegiate awards following her second consecutive SEC Player of the Year honor. She is in the running for the ANNIKA Award, given to the top female collegiate golfer nationwide, and the WGCA Player of the Year Award. Ramirez has consistently performed with an average score of 68.4 and won the SEC Individual Championship. Additionally, Charlie Ewing, the coach of MSU's women's golf team, has been nominated for the WGCA Jackie Steinmann Coach of the Year Award amidst the team's historic season, which includes an SEC Championship win and an upcoming competition for an NCAA Championship.
