Canton man sentenced for impregnating 14-year-old, having sex with underage cousin
SUMMARY: Bruce Jermal Thompson, 27, from Canton, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for having sexual relations with underage girls, without the chance for early release or parole. In 2019, a 15-year-old girl miscarried at a medical center, leading to an investigation that determined Thompson to be the father; he was 22 when he conceived the child with the 14-year-old victim. Another case involved a juvenile relative, who Thompson had been abusing since she was 12. Despite the victims' reluctance to testify, Thompson pleaded guilty in both cases, and his sentences will run concurrently. He must also register as a sex offender for life after his release.
