SUMMARY: A 35-acre oyster reef is being built in Bay St Louis as a recreational fishing spot and oyster landing ground. Agencies are working to repopulate oysters by creating places for them to attach and mature, with mounds of limestone being constructed vertically to serve this purpose. Tom Morman is spearheading the project, with the goal of oysters growing, reproducing, and drifting to commercial reefs downstream. The project is set to be completed in the next two to three weeks and is located just outside of Bay St Louis, south of the Wolf River.

SUMMARY: The 45th Spring Art Exhibit and sale in Pascagoula is featuring a variety of artwork from different artists, including wood carving, mixed media, photography, pastel, drawing, and sculpture. The exhibit is open to counties in Mississippi and Mobile County in Alabama. The reception is free and open to the public on Friday, May 3rd, from 4:00 to 7:00, with refreshments and artists receiving awards.
