Federal agents, police searching for gun store burglary suspects
SUMMARY: Federal agents are currently searching for two individuals involved in a gun store burglary on the coast. The incident occurred last Saturday at the Gun Ho Range and Firearm Store in Pascan, where several guns were stolen. One gun has already been recovered. Surveillance images have been released in hopes of generating new leads. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
ATF and the Pass Christian Police Department are searching for two suspects accused of burglarizing a gun store.

Biloxi Councilman Robert Deming pleads guilty to one charge in drug case
SUMMARY: Robert Demming, a city councilman in Buuy, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to distribute in a federal case. The maximum penalty includes 20 years in prison, a $100 million fine, three years probation, and a special assessment fee. The indictment against Demming also included two counts of intent to distribute and a charge of altering records in a federal investigation related to synthetic cannaboid products sold at CBD stores in Mississippi and North Carolina. Prosecutors dropped the other charges in exchange for the guilty plea, and Demming is set for sentencing on August 13th. Demming will have to resign from his position on the city council as a result of the plea.

SUMMARY: Ahead of today's adjournment, a few bills remain in the state legislature, including a debate over expanding Medicaid in Mississippi. Lawmakers faced a deadline but were able to extend negotiations for one more day. The proposed Medicaid expansion would require new recipients to work at least 100 hours, similar to a requirement in Georgia which is being legally challenged. Another bill would allow Bay St. Louis to use FEMA funds for flood mitigation. The outcome of these bills remains uncertain as the legislature adjourns.
