Entergy Mississippi customers to see reduction in monthly bill

SUMMARY: Entergy Mississippi customers will see a decrease in their monthly bill in July 2023. The has unanimously approved a reduction of $7.08 for a typical residential customer using 1,000 kilowatts per hour starting in the month of July. This affects customers in Choctaw, Grenada, and Webster counties. The commission also offers some energy efficiency tips such as changing filters and setting the thermostat to 78 degrees or the highest comfortable temperature.

Pearl River woman pleads guilty to stabbing tribal member

SUMMARY: Telinah Kowi Tek Farve, a woman from Pearl , pled guilty to assaulting a tribal member with a knife in the Pearl River Community of the Choctaw Indian Reservation. Court documents show that in 2023, she stabbed the tribal member, causing serious bodily injury. Farve was indicted by a federal grand jury and pled guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury. She is to be on August 6, 2024, facing a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. The Choctaw Department and the FBI investigated the case, and a federal district judge will determine her sentence based on sentencing guidelines and other factors.

Courtney Stewart Wiggly was for shooting her husband, Daryl Wiggly, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was flown to for treatment. Courtney is in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center awaiting her Initial Appearance. The incident is being investigated as aggravated domestic violence.
