Entergy Mississippi customers to see reduction in monthly bill

SUMMARY: Entergy Mississippi customers will see a decrease in their monthly bill in July 2023. The Mississippi Public Service Commission has unanimously approved a reduction of $7.08 for a typical residential customer using 1,000 kilowatts per hour starting in the month of July. This affects customers in Choctaw, Grenada, and Webster counties. The commission also offers some energy efficiency tips such as changing air filters and setting the thermostat to 78 degrees or the highest comfortable temperature.

SUMMARY: On April 27th, Columbus Police responded to a gunshot victim in the 800 block of North Lehmberg. Courtney Stewart Wiggly was arrested for shooting her husband, Daryl Wiggly, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was flown to Jackson for treatment. Courtney is in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center awaiting her Initial Appearance. The incident is being investigated as aggravated domestic violence.
