Cause of fatal Mississippi propane explosion undetermined
SUMMARY: The State Fire Marshal's Office ruled that the cause of a fatal explosion at a Copiah County home is undetermined due to the extent of damage. In January 2024, a lawsuit was filed on behalf of the victims of the deadly propane explosion that killed four people. The lawsuit, filed by Morgan & Morgan, claims that the propane tank was improperly installed and inspected by Herring Gas employees the night before the explosion. Herring Gas officials have not issued a statement regarding the lawsuit. The victims of the explosion were identified as 14-year-old Toler Jordan, 18-year-old Houston Jordan, 43-year-old Calvin Jordan, and 52-year-old Jeremy Mitchell.

1 injured in officer-involved shooting at Ridgeland apartment complex
