Solar storm makes Northern Lights visible in Pine Belt
SUMMARY: Weather anchor Michael Clark welcomes viewers and mentions the rare solar storm causing Northern Lights to be visible. Images of the phenomenon are shared, including some taken outside the television station. Viewers are advised to avoid bright lights when taking photos for better clarity. The US National Weather Service predicts a faint pink haze in the sky towards the North or overhead. However, the solar storm could also disrupt certain communication technologies. Mother's Day weekend is approaching, and viewers are encouraged to enjoy the natural spectacle while being cautious of potential disruptions.
Many Pine Belt residents may have seen lights in the sky Friday evening due to a solar storm.

Dau Mabil rally in Jackson calls for answers
SUMMARY: A vigil and news conference were held to raise awareness about the case of Dau Mabil, a Sudan native who went missing in March and was later found dead in the Pearl River. Family, friends, and supporters, including the Mississippi NAACP, are frustrated with the handling of the investigation, citing a lack of information and transparency from the Capitol Police. Dau's family, represented by his foster mother and brother, are demanding a thorough investigation and federal intervention. A court ruling prevented Dau's cremation to allow for an independent autopsy. A prayer vigil was also held to honor his life.

Sister of suspect in kidnap and murder speaks
SUMMARY: Brooklyn reports live from the Jackson Police Department (JPD) about Daniel Callahan's arrest for murder and abduction. Callahan's sister, Dixie Hemphill, claims his actions were horrific but not surprising, citing a troubled past and criminal behavior. Callahan allegedly killed Callie Brunnett in Louisiana, abducted her two children, and murdered her three-year-old daughter in Jackson. Callahan confessed to the crimes, stating he has borderline multiple personality disorder. Hemphill revealed previous reports of his misconduct, including molestation and another murder, but authorities found insufficient evidence to indict him. The Lincoln County Sheriff expressed regret over the justice system's failure.
